Ryder Cup
Ryder Cup - Is a friendly styled 2 person handicapped competition managed by Alan Welch and usually played at the Lancaster Golf Club. Two teams will be formed within Tree Tops with each having A, B, and C players. Within these classes of players, 2 person teams will play against each other in the Ryder Cup style-- 6 holes of "scramble", 6 holes "best score" (play own ball), and 6 holes "alternate shot". The handicapping is based on GHINs and if no GHIN-- then the 3-5 scores posted by each player before the event.

Team Selections Social -- 6:30-8:30pm Wednesday 9 Oct. 2024 at the Tree House

The two teams will battle it out at Lancaster and then have a meal and brew's at Smok'in Rail afterwards.
With a shotgun start at 9am and a free driving range token, ask that all be there early and at the putting green by 8:45am ready to listen to final rules, a Q&A session, and then off to the holes of play.

Handicapping
Done in accordance with USGA Recommendations.
All will play to their GHIN handicap (based on early Oct.) and if none, to their computed handicaps based on their submissions in the Handicap Spreadsheet.
All players have inputted at least 3 scores-- BIG THANKS TO ALL!

Rules
Same rules as Stableford-- essentially,
- 1 club length movement everywhere except Green (no matter what-- so no movement to grass-- just 1 club length),
- play out of bounds as lateral (1 stroke penalty ) drop where it went OB,
- can drop on island/other side of water if it hit the ground before going in water (not wood embankment on island green #6) with 1 stroke penalty,
- For #6 and #9 drives that go in the water, have to drop before water and include 1 stroke penalty,
- For #6 and #9 2nd shots, can drop on other side of water with 1 stroke penalty.

We had a glorious perfect weather day for our Ryder Match. The Bombers dominated by winning 5 out of the 7 matches of the day. But, fun was had by all and thus expect this to be a Fall tradition.
